The appellate court of Agadir on Thursday night sentenced to death a person sued for murdering nine children in the town of Taroudant (near Agadir).
The court also handed down sentences ranging from 1 to 4 year imprisonment to three individuals, charged with rape of minor and non-denunciation of crime.
The main defendant was condemned to pay a symbolic Dirham to the National Observatory of Children Rights and to the Moroccan Association for Human Rights (AMDH), as well as compensations ranging from 3,000 Dhs (around US $333) to 20,000 Dhs (around US $2.222 ) to the families of the victims.
The man was facing charges including premeditated serial assassinations, use of arms, torture, violence, rape of minors, kidnapping and sequestration of minors.
Abdelali, 42, confessed to the crimes and to the sexual abuse of his victims whom he buried after murdering them. He said he committed his first crime three years ago.
Mutilated bodies of the eight teens, aged between 13 and 16, were found in plastic bags.

The alleged child murderer of the town of Taroudant, South of Rabat, reportedly confessed to the killing of a ninth victim, law enforcement sources of Taroudant said Friday.
The same sources added that during questioning, the alleged criminal Abdelaali H., Born in 1962 in Taroudant, confessed the ninth victim was the first child he kills after molestation.
The alleged murderer and child molester said, according to the same source, he burried the child in a garden near the "Sidi Bou Dheb" graveyard and digged out the corpse a month later and threw it in a public dumping ground.
Mutilated bodies of eight teens, aged between 13 and 16, were found late last month in plastic bags in Taroudant. The death of one of the victims dates back to less than three months, while the other victims' death dates back from 6 months to three years.

The serial killer of 9 children in the south-western Moroccan city of Taroudant will appear before a tribunal Thursday, after an 18-day instruction, authorities said.
Abdelali, 42, is described by police as a "psychopath homeless" who was living near the place where the bodies of the eight victims were discovered few days ago.
According to Police, he confessed to the crimes and sexually abused his victims before killing and burying them. He said he committed his first crime three years ago.

Louahlia, director of the medical-legal Institute of Casablanca's Ibn Rochd hospital, revealed that traces of blows were found on their heads and bodies. He said the bodies were buried before they were unearthed again as soil was found in the bones of the victims.
